The Nansen Stick Harness was developed to solve the problem that many musher encounter with their wheel dogs, who are exposed to hip and back strain. This harness puts less load and therefore less stress on the dog's backend by utilizing an aluminum stick behind the dog's hips which is able to move up and down with the terrain. Elastic webbing keeps the harness and stick in the correct position all while still allowing full freedom of movement. A good harness is an essential tool for injury prevention and performance but also for your dog's comfort.
Nansen Stick Harness is available in full-sizes (indicated by a blue end-rope) and half-sizes (indicated by a red end-rope). The half-sizes have the same back length as the corresponding full-size but with a larger neck circumference.

Measure your dog’s neck circumference and back length to find the right size. Measure where the harness will lie. Make sure to measure tight around the neck and pull away your dog’s fur to get an accurate measurement.
