The Flagline Harness is a fast, light, and comfortable harness that keeps dogs in their flow, from scrambling in the backcountry to conquering everyday obstacles. A handle and load-dispersing chest/belly panel make for easy lift-and-assist in a nimble design good for all-day wear. I bought my first Ruffwear Flagline harness when I adopted my tripawd flat coated retriever. I had done a lot of research and the Flagline seemed the best way to go for a front leg amputee. It did not disappoint! Comfort for my pooch, ease of putting on and taking off, durability through numerous washings and rolling in snow and grass and muck, lift assist in and out of car, up steps or more challenging terrain, and you get the idea. Three years later and it is still going strong but a little faded. Having recently adopted a MexiMutt I felt it only fair that she benefit from a Flagline harness as well. you can never go wrong with a Ruffwear harness. We have a dog who likes to pull and try to get off the harness when he gets under a stressful situation during our walks (he is a very nervous dog) and Ruffwear can contain him so he can get off the harness.

Love the colours and harness design in general, but it's not a great fit for my whippet. I think he could still back out of it if he wanted, and the first straps (at his neck) are too loose/can't be adjusted further, but the "small" was the correct size for his chest. I know some other sighthound people who use the Ruffwear harnesses and I was skeptical about the fit but gave it a try as my preferred escape-proof harness (independent company, custom made) is on backorder, but I would not recommend ANY Ruffwear harness for barrel-chested breeds at this point. I have also used a 2-strap Front Rangewith my last whippet and he backed out of it on two different occasions, which is why I moved to an escape-proof one custom made for your whippet's specifications. I'd love to see Ruffwear make a harness designed for skittish, barrel-chested breeds that actually works and fits properly, but until then I can't recommend this company to other whippet/sighthound owners unless you're after gear like sleeping bags, leashes, etc.

I was having a hard time deciding on colour, settled on salmon pink but wasn’t so crazy about the pink.. I was pleasantly surprised, the colour is much nicer in person! The pink is much brighter, cute combination with the light blue. My 8lb girl is wearing the XXS, good fit (but if she were male it would be too big)

I’m very happy with the Flagline harness. The double chest strap is great security & the handle will be very useful for when my senior dog may need a little assistance with stairs etc as he ages. The design allows for great range of motion & comfort as well. Having this colour look so good with his Polar Trex Boots is a bonus!

We love our new harness! Was finding it hard to find one that fit our smaller lab mix, Phoebe and the Medium fits her perfectly. Love the longer Flatline version, it's very secure. The back clip is great for hikes with a long line, and we switch to the front clip for city walks which she's used to. The high-vis feature on the front is nice at night to help give visibility to our black pupper.

The RUFFWEAR FLAGLINE HARNESS is one of the 2 harness models recommended when adopting a dog with the Free Korean Dog organisation. It is my personal experience that this harness is better for dogs with longer bodies and shorter legs. Compare to the RUFFWEAR WEB MASTER HARNESS model, this harness is lighter, less thick/bulky, and the length of the straps allow more adjustments. Double check measurements at the largest part of the girth to avoid costly returns.

Even the dog likes it! Our dog Silver used to run around the house to avoid her harness, and whenever we went somewhere she didn't want or she had to wait for our other dog, she would back out. I reached out to the good peeps of SeeSawyerRun, and got recommendations as to most suitable harness. She doesn't mind her new harness, in fact will often come and sit for me to put it on her. This update to the harness seems to have made small steps down in meaningful ways. 1) The hardware, specifically the strap-strap lock clips, are the weak point. The first of these on the first wore out/broke after 2 days. They usually do eventually, but they end up being sewn into the desired length anyway. 2) The straps seem lower-weight than the predecessor, and seem to resist wear/chewing even less. They are, however, easier to sew through for the inevitable repair. 3) The colour, Pink versus Red Rock is very close to the old one after it's been in the sun for a couple of months. 4) The contrasting colour on the straps is garish. They seem to light up well under flashlight though, so visibility is increased, so that's the reason for listing it last. The additional cloth loop at the rear of the back piece is a good thing - useful to have another attachment point when desired.

I’ve been using the flagline harness since my dog was 5 months old. So safe since she can’t back out of it but it’s lightweight at the same time. My dog is four now and this is only my second purchase of this harness so it’s held up to our adventures really well. Highly recommend this harness!

Ghost loved wearing his new harness helping conduct rare plant surveys in the mountains. It was durable and even though it got really muddy, the colour still popped after washing it. The handle was nice to help him on and off of an ATV and hold onto him when required near wildlife. He never seemed uncomfortable in it and we look forward to our next work adventures.

The harness modèle is unsafe and unreliable for dog with drive. I have a sighthound and both the original and the replacement broke during a walk (first time was the attachment clasp and second time the adjuster in the front). Both time, my dog could have escaped. This is such a poor quality for that price.

We originally bought the harness, “Ruffwear Flagline” in teal, XXS, intending it for our Chihuahua Charlie. Unfortunately it proved too long for is rather short body. It did adjust nicely and it fits on both of our other dogs, Bella (Chihuahua) and Lucy (Jack Russell cross). In March we got a “Ruffwear Hi & Light Harness” in XXS, which was on final sale, for Charlie. This fit him okay, although it doesn’t have the handy carrying handle like the Flagline. Finally this month we acquired another Flagline, in salmon, this time for Bella.

I already had the teal and red Ruffwear Flagline harnesses and love them. Then I saw this high-visibility version and had to have them, so now both of my dogs have a new, bright one to wear. I have never had one of my dogs back out of these harnesses. Also, both of my dogs are very reactive and tend to bark and lunge at anything moving so the key thing for me was a harness that would hold their 60 pound bodies and not break under the pressure - the Ruffwear Flagline have never shown any signs of giving up! When I know that I will encounter scary things that they will react around, I use the front-hook loop (with my new Ruffwear front range leashes). See Sawyer Run provided nearly immediate shipping of my order and has always provided great service to me.

This is the only harness that has fitted Raven properly. I got a XS and it is still a little loose but she can't come out of it an run away when she gets scared. The fabric it is made of is awesome! I think if I chose a XXS it would be to tight. Love it and so does Raven. Thank you

The Ruffwear Flagline Harness is the perfect harness for escape artists like my pup. It's the only harness out of the many we've tried that stays on her. She's worn it hiking, running, and swimming, the material has held up well and is easy to clean. Adjusting the harness is easy, Ruffwear has great videos showing how online. I like the three attachment points, we can put on a bear bell and switch between leash on front or on back depending on where we are walking. I'm really glad See Sawyer Run carries Ruffwear products, shipping was reasonably fast and their customer service and communication were very good, I will definitely recommend their store and plan on shopping with them again.

This harness is a game changer with my pup. He had recently learned how to become an escape artist, and this harness squashed that idea completely. It is perfect for barrel chested pups for sure. I was nervous on sizing because Luka is only 8 months and has some room to grow- but I ordered a medium with him at 55 pounds, and still have 3+ inches according to size chart. When the harness is on it looks like he has even more room left to grow into it, and I think he will be fine staying in this size into his adult weight. The multiple attachment points are super helpful. One more thing I love on this harness, is when you use the front ring to attach a leash, the whole harness doesn't slide around his body if he pulls because it has that second strap in the back to stay secure. I found every other harness moves around too easily for the front ring. He is learning not to pull at all, but this harness is still a godsend for when it happens.

Peachy, our 12-year-old greyhound, and her humans love her new Ruffwear Flagline harness from See Sawyer Run! When she was recently diagnosed with spinal compression, her veterinarian urged us to stop connecting her leash to a collar in favour of a harness. We initially made due with a simple strap harness, but we found it shifted and irritated the top back of her front legs. A friend let us try out the Ruffwear Web Master harness they used for their aging greyhound. It worked well, but we opted to upgrade to the Flagline because of the increased chest and belly support. We purchased the L/XL so it could be adjusted to fit with or without a coat. Walks are a pleasure--the well-made harness stays snugly in place and there is no strain on Peachy's neck or irritation on her undercarriage. The body straps adjust to a really good fit now, but the neck opening, adjusted as small as possible, seems a little loose to me. The dogs must think that’s okay, because as soon as I pick up the leashes they are both there and waiting! The little female used to balk at getting the xxs harness on but now she is the first to get in line. Hopefully, they won’t out grow these ones like they did the others.

My best boy Calvin has just turned 17! Due to arthritis and some lack of muscle mass in his hind legs he’s having a hard time with steps going in and out of the house and can no longer get in the car by himself. He loves car rides in the countryside so this is a big deal for us. The Ruffwear Flagline Harness is fantastic. It is incredibly lightweight, comfortable, adjusts to fit him perfectly and is also very attractive. Calvin waits to have the harness put on every time we go out, even for a quick bathroom break, as it makes walking around on the snow and ice so much easier for him. And when he is doing his business I can steady him by holding the handle. I would definitely recommend this harness to anyone lucky enough to be living with a very senior dog. I bought this for my senior dog so that we would have some more stability when walking in snow and ice, and so far having a harness with the addition of a handle is helping. The fit is not too big, nor too small which is also great. My only issue with it (as it’s been with many brands) is that the nylon straps of the harness dig into his skin no matter how tight or loose they’re set. I understand that a harness is built for strength, support, and some for dogs of a particular activity level etc…but even with that, I do wish more brands took into consideration that many dogs are sensitive and would consider selling optional padding for straps so that fur & skin is protected from chafing.

Gomi is an escape artist which is why we got this harness but since she has been wearing it she hasn't even tried to do her little dip, duck and escape. I like the light weight material is great for cleaning and and will not be as hot in the summer.

Sophie became a tripawd 6 weeks ago. While researching what to expect we quickly realized that she would need a harness that not only had to be easy to put on but allow her to be independent as she learned how to maneuver again while allowing us to assist her when she struggled. The Ruffwear Flagline harness fits my 6 month old Border Collie perfectly. Lots of space behind his elbows, so there is no chaffing. The size small is perfect for him (currently 15.8kg), and will have adequate adjustment to fit him into adulthood. I also purchased the Ruffwear Beacon light, and the harness has an attachment loop for the light, which is handy. Quality is excellent, I will purchase this brand again. Size small fits well with my 44lb border collie. I was worried about him peeing on the harness because that’s the issue when he wears clothes and jackets. But this harness seems to be the perfect size so I don’t have any issue. Easy to clean and dry fast as well.

I did a lot of research beforehand and the Flagline seemed to fit the bill in terms of all-day comfort, durability, essential handle assist, breathability in warm weather, and suitability for a front-leg amputee. I couldn’t be more pleased with the product, or with the fast and courteous service provided by See Sawyer Run. My tripawd wears the harness from the start of the day until bedtime. It’s lightweight enough that it’s not hot or uncomfortable for her, it is fully adjustable to insure the right fit, and it is super durable with quality workmanship. And that handle is indispensable for helping her down from heights (need to protect that one front leg from undue shock), assisting her up stairs, or lifting her in and out of the car. I can feel confident that the handle will safely and comfortably support her 50 lb weight. Thank you Ruffwear and thank you See Sawyer Run. I highly recommend both the product, and the retailer. The Ruffwear flagline is a well designed harness and features a supportive chest panel that puts even pressure. The harness is also very light. Minor complaints are that the metal v-ring is too small to take a carabiner, and the front straps will loosen if your dog is pulling. The harness has 3 attachment points, two on the back and the loosening can be reduced with a bit of tape under the adjusters so no big deal. Previously had a Ruffwear Webmaster (small). The design of the chest patch on it was actually pressing against his larynx while running with me, choking him unless we were walking slow (not the preference of a high energy dog!!) so I had to return. New harness had to be just as escape proof, and it is. Sizing: this harness is much closer to other brands than other Ruffwear products. The medium fits very well on my 49lbs, 24" neck to base of tail, 26" chest girth border collie, though Ruffwear's size guide would suggest a small. Unlike the webmaster which has a floating rear strap, the length of this harness is not adjustable and I wanted to make sure the length would reach beyond his ribcage. The girth adjustment has a huge range on the flagline, so I'd recommend choosing a size based on your dog's length. Overall very satisfied and would recommend over the webmaster.

Product arrived even sooner than expected. They seem to be well made and designed. We have two one year old Yorkie types, which puts them in close sizing categories. Went with the smaller ones and the adjustment is the smallest amount on the neck, with some adjustment left around the chest and longest possible behind the rib cage. This allowed finger size slackness under the straps and the dogs seem to move freely and comfortable. The harness is a bit like putting snow suits and boots on young children, it takes a little longer, but the results are for a good reason. Our little female proved herself to be a real escape artist from previous types of harnesses, making us very concerned for her safety. The harness has, so far, lived up to its claim in this regard. We use these harnesses in conjunction with bungee type leashes hooked to a nylon belt. Winter conditions have caused us to partially or completely slip and fall loosing hold of a leash. The cost of purchase is a bit high, but, the satisfaction and ease of mind are worth it.

Leo was born with cerebellum hypoplasia and has extreme difficulty with balance, coordination and walking. This harness is what I’ve been searching for. The handle is life changing…I hold the handle while he walks along..kind of like carrying a purse (lol). I am able to hold him up while he goes to the bathroom, which has saved us from some messes. The harness is streamlined and longer than the average harness which is great for the hot weather. The length helps with lifting him into the car and supporting his body. Absolute lifesaver for my front leg tripawd. We have used it EVERY single day since her surgery 3 months ago. It’s so easy to get on and off her thanks to the 4 clips. No need to lift a leg into the harness. It’s perfect. Since it’s so lightweight I can leave it on her for hours and she doesn’t get uncomfortable or too hot. Love it.

The color is great and the length is perfect for my shepsky. My boy is in between to size so the neck is a bit big, but the smaller size would have been to small for the rest of his body. What I like the most about this product is that the shoulder blade are not stuck under heavy material which allows me to use this harness for a bit of pulling when we go hiking. I recommend this product 100%!

Love it. Great quality, light weight, and very easy to put on because the buckles are on top. I have a Havanese and worry small dogs have more difficulty on hikes. This handle allows me to pick him up easily over obstacles.

Just love both the flatline harness & knot-a-long leash especially the sturdy fastener for when our whippet Eala performs her whirling dervish it stays secure. The harness is nice and light for this time of year & still provides a handle for quick pickup. We also have the webmaster harness for winter, great designs for the whippets body shape. Now would like to purchase the float harness, this whippet likes the water at the Bay! The only problem is I missed out on the turquoise colour.

Although I wouldn’t have expected it fro m him, my boy recently slipped his harness, right near a busy street. I purchased the flagline for both my dogs as the second chest strap should make a recurrence far more unlikely. They’re well constructed, light weight, and both dogs seem comfortable wearing them. The chest piece is narrow enough that it doesn’t rub their legs. I bought a small for my 39 lb boy and a medium for my 41 lb girl, as she needed more length. The only thing I’d wish for is more selection of colours.

This harness is amazing. The seems are well sewn and the material is strong but light weight. The medium fits perfectly for our skinny but tall boredoodle, Sadie who weighs 17 kg. Most importantly, Sadie had her leg rear leg amputated and this harness has been invaluable. She hasn't taken it off since getting home. It is perfect for keeping her balanced either with the handle or the leash. Highly recommended and worth every penny.

The quality is as exceptional as I've come to expect from Ruffwear. I decided to try this since my dog had outgrown the (also phenomenal) Ruffwear Webmaster that she's had since she was a puppy. Mili loves her new flagline harness. The material is super light and breathable, and seems really durable. The handle on top has already come in handy to lift Mili out of the water when she accidentally went for her first swim (aka fell in a lake). The multiple attachment and adjustment points mean we can really dial in the fit to make it comfortable - which has been especially helpful since we just had Mili groomed and she is now much less fluffy than when we first fitted the harness to her. Fast shipping too was a huge plus, since the harness arrived right before Mili's first multi-day hike. She was comfortable in the trails and at camp lounging.
